The Bahamas are located between Florida in the
northwest and Cuba in the south and consist of 30 bigger, about 700 smaller islands and more than 2400 cays. Only 29 islands are inhabited. The Bahamas are flat islands with beautiful beaches and lots of palm
trees. Bahamas’ highest “mountain” on Cat Island, Mount Alvernia, is 206 ft high. The climate is subtropic and mild. On New Providence Island live most of the 276.000 inhabitants of the Bahamas. It
is the main island with the capitol city Nassau. The “Out Islands” or “Family Islands” are tranquil and peaceful places for those who want to relax and make vacation away from mass tourism. Lots of good
snorkelling and dive sites can be found in the Bahamas.

Long Island, our 2005 vacation’s destination
is located in the southern part of the Bahamas, is about 80 miles long and 2 to 4 miles wide with beautiful beaches. Breathtaking coral reefs with lots of colourful fish surround the island, an El Dorado for divers
and snorkelers.
