Our first trip to the Bahamas took place in 1993. I was QRV as C6A/DL7VOG from Cable Beach near Nassau, New Providence (NA-001) from April 13 until April 27. This was my first “serious” DXpedition after my appearance in the DX world as SV9/Y88VO/p in 1992. I made 2723 QSOs. For my second C6 land DXpedition in 1998 I got my call sign C6AKA. I operated from three different islands: Bimini (NA-048) from May 30 until June 6, Crooked Island (NA-113) from June 9 - 17 and New Providence (NA-001) June 17/18 and made 5956 QSOs in total. Great Harbour Cay in the Berry Islands (NA-054) from May 23 - 29, 2000 was our third visit to the Bahamas. This time I had 3567 QSOs in my log. Our fourth vacation trip to Long Island (NA-001) took place May 1 until May 15, 2005 followed by a visit to our friends in Florida, Kay and Chet (AB4XK) and the Dayton HamVention. I had to struggle hard for 3058 QSOs in my log. Worst condx ever !!! |
