Warum QSL Karten? Why QSL cards?

Mit dem gegenseitigen Austausch von QSL Karten wird eine Funkverbindung endgültig abgeschlossen. Viele dieser Karten werden für Auszeichnungen und Diplome verwendet. QSL Karten aus seltenen Ländern werden durch die Funkamateure besonders geschätzt. Exchanging QSL cards is the final conclusion for a radio contact. Many of these cards serve as a document for honours and awards. Cards from rare countries are especially appreciated by the hamradio operators.

QSL roules
QSL via bureau is standard procedure. I do not manage eQSLs because they are not valid for most of the important awards. You are welcome to send your QSL card directly including SAE and return postage to my personal address. If you do not follow this procedure, QSL will be sent back via bureau. Minimum postage:

out of Europe 2 US$
Special roules for HB9 SAE with Swiss stamps.
Special roules for Germany SAE with 0,55 Euro German stamps.

QSL Austausch
QSL via buro ist Standard. Am Austausch von eQSLs nehme ich nicht teil weil sie für wichtige Diplome ungültig sind. Gerne beantworte ich direkt eingehende QSL Karten die mit einem adressierten Umschlag (SAE) und Rückporto zugeschickt werden. Bei ungenügendem Rückporto schicke ich die Karte via Büro zurück. Aktuell gilt:

Spezielle Regel für HB9 SAE mit schweizer Briefmarken
Spezielle Regel für DL SAE mit 0,55 Euro deutsche Briefmarken

Erfahrungen / Experience

Der direkte Versand von QSL-Karten ergänzt mit einem SAE sowie US$ ist in einige Länder
nicht zu empfehlen. Viele Briefe werden gestohlen und kommen bei den Empfängern nie an.

The direct shipment of QSL cards with a self addressed envelope and US$ is not recommended
in several countries. Letters get lost or are stolen. I speak from my own experience.

In any case check QSL-manager information. If there are no remarks about the timing to send out QSL-cards this experience becomes true: If you do not receive feedback to a direct QSL within 6 month, time and money is lost.
